Features and Magazine Journalist Dublin

This is an exciting opportunity to gain first-hand experience in Features writing across digital and print platforms. You will be able to write with flair and personality and be brimming with ideas and will also be able to write articles that are unique, compelling, colourful and educational/factual as required. The Features Journalist will work closely with the Head of Features and will also be able to contribute to podcasts as necessary.

By the end of our MET Programme, you will be able to identify, write and edit features in a fast-paced environment. You will be capable of working independently while taking care to ensure stories are verified, legally sound and fit for publication on print and digital platforms. You will have learned more about how to ensure our titles have a competitive edge and to increase audience engagement.

What you will be doing

• Learning how to write high-quality features to a deadline.
• Developing relationships with colleagues in Features and throughout Editorial.
• Writing stories for both print and digital and ensure all articles are accurate.
• Establish contacts and sources to use in future stories.
• Contributing to idea generation for Features.
• Collaborating with general news and vertical specialists, print News Editors and Head of News in the newsroom.
• Adopting best practices for maximising audience engagement and an ability to write engaging headlines and summaries.
• Gaining the ability to quickly and smoothly package stories on a broad range of topics.
• Performing other duties on occasion as required by the Editor.

We don’t want formal qualifications to be a blocker or sway our selection. So we will not be asking about your schooling or qualifications. It’s your passion we are interested in.

Salary €25,000 plus bonus plus benefits
