Martine Vandezande will be joining the Executive Committee of Mediahuis Group (Dircom) as Chief HR Officer (CHRO), alongside COO Paul Verwilt, CFO Kristiaan De Beukelaer and CEO Gert Ysebaert. Martine, who became HR Director of Mediahuis Belgium in 2016, has successfully combined these responsibilities with the role of Group HR Director since 2020. In her new position as CHRO, she will now focus entirely on to the continued development of our HR strategy across the group.
Our group has a clear vision and strategy. However, a strategy and vision are nothing without the people to bring them to life. The international growth of our group offers many opportunities in terms of people and organisation but also brings new challenges each time. A thoughtful HR strategy is essential to effectively address these challenges. Whereas we initially started by sharing knowledge organically within the group and setting up joint projects, we will increasingly use the HR Group roadmap to introduce and implement key projects at group level. These initiatives include talent development, leadership, diversity & inclusion, internal mobility, defining our future organization and the necessary competencies, and further developing group-wide corporate communication.
In addition to her role on the Executive Committee of Mediahuis group, Martine will continue to be a member of the Mediahuis Group Team, and will lead both the Group HR Team and the Group Academy Team. Martine is also a director on the Board of Mediahuis Ireland and Mediahuis Nederland.
